Last Friday the Team listed 2128 Monks Hollow Drive in Florissant. This 1988 ranch-style home sits on a spacious lot and has been fully updated to include: bamboo and tile flooring and stainless kitchen appliances as well as new roof, windows, siding, garage door, and driveway. The house also abuts common land in the back and is a short drive away from Florissant's Sunset Park.

Sunset Park is a 108 acre park located along the Missouri River, overlooking the Marais Temps Clair Conservation Area. The park would likely not exist at all if it hadn’t been for the generosity of Joseph and Marie Desloge, who donated 26.75 acres of their private land to the City of Florissant in 1961.

The following year, Florissant leased an additional 13 acres from Union Electric for better accessibility. In 1963, Florissant purchased 15.5 acres from Willis and Luella Ehrardt, expanding the park south.

It wasn’t until 1964 that the park was given a name after a naming contest sponsored by the Junior Park Board. Vincent Fonte, Jr. submitted the winning name and received a $25 savings bond. Three years later, Sunset Park was officially dedicated as the City of Florissant’s 5th major park.

The park was expanded again in 1975, when the City purchased 34 acres from William and Molly Riley for just $1. A major milestone was achieved in 2012, when the grandchildren of the original donors Joseph and Marie Desloge donated 18 more acres, creating Florissant's largest and first 100+ acre park.

Today, visitors can hike along the river or in the forest trails, have a picnic or BBQ at the pavilion, bike, fish, and rent the Sunset Nature Lodge for special occasions. As the name suggests, Sunset Park is also the perfect location to sit back and enjoy the sunset.
